More than 15,000 Xblocs® will be necessary to build the breakdown shell to be protected against high swells.
From March to July 2016, an automated prefabrication plant was built to standardize the production quality of these essential products and meet the construction project deadline. This production plant is fully automated, produces 40 Xblocs® per day and is directly connected to the concrete plant. Once filled up, the steel moulds are transferred to the mechanized stripping unit after the 24 hour drying operation is completed. Once the formwork is removed, the Xbloc® is dried for 24 more hours to be handled completely dried at leaving the production plant. The moulds are then replaced for a new cycle after cleaning and oiling.
