Beyond a real impact on the local economy through its orders, Calais Port 2015 construction site creates direct or indirect jobs, and is also active regarding professional reintegration and training.
In November 2017, about forty contracts of the Design and Construction Joint Venture will have benefited to people in employment insertion living in and around Calais.
Johann Blau, from Calais, is an example of successful professional integration on the construction site : he was hired in June 2016 as inventory manager and is now taking exams, the so called “CACES R372M 1, 4 and 7”, training for the operation of construction machines with 10 independent categories after having being interviewed by his manager and the PLIE and INTERINSER structures in charge of accompanying people. For Johann Blau, Calais Port 2015 is thus a great opportunity to go back to work using his inventory manager BEP skills and diploma and gain even more versatility in the construction trades.
