First construction works for buildings will start in spring 2019 on the new platform. But for many months now, architects and design engineers have been working on the public reception superstructures and dedicated facilities for the professionals of the port. The French Border Force, the French customs and the British Home Office immigration authorities as well as the ferry companies and port employees will be provided with these new workspaces at Calais Port 2015 opening.
The new port will have two large buildings to receive passengers :

The port entrance building with many functions: welcoming passengers, tourists information, port authority facilities, shops, restaurant and temporary exhibition space, conference and meeting rooms…

The passenger service building: in front of the basin and ferry berths, the transparency of this large building will offer passengers waiting to board an amazing view of ferry movements and Calais port facilities. They will also be able to eat up and go shopping on the continent before getting on board.
