Calais Port 2015 clock at the time of the environment

2018/06/05

On the World Environment Day, Calais Port 2015 Design and Construction Joint Venture teams stopped their usual activities for an hour and a half to focus on a large-scale waste collection operation!
For a concrete sign to mark its commitment to the environment, the construction site stopped this June 5th morning from 8:00 to 9:30 for a “waste hunting”. The operation was organized in partnership with Nature Libre association. Someone walking in the countryside may collect an average of 10 kilograms of waste in one hour. Despite all actions already undertaken by the Design and Construction Joint Venture to limit the construction site impact on the environment and everyone’s daily involvement, the waste volume collected during this operation on a surface of 65 hectares made it possible to consider the work that remains to be done. Everyone went back to work more aware of the problem scope, decided to take action with responsibility and commitment, in a concrete way!

The day continued with a presentation by the Hauts-de-France Region teams of the renaturation actions carried out by the Region around the site.

Congratulations on this initiative, in which the Hauts-de-France Region also participated!
