In June 2016, the construction joint venture achieved a major step starting visually saving land on sea.
The tempory breakwater was built a few meters away from the coast. It is a temporary structure made of sand and rocks to contain as a barrier, materials from dredging the future basin ; an island that will gradually disappear according to the construction progress.
